Or another way to look at it is...
There are large creatures mentioned in the bible (Leviathan and Behemoth), and so people who want to believe the bible is true, just call them dinosaurs.
maybe the author of that particular bit had some archeological training, and decided to work into his text something about the subject he was passionate about....
just sayin, it's as much chance being true as any other guess.....

I think they are a leviathan and a behemoth, in this particular story. But since I don't believe the bible is true, I think they are imaginary creatures, not dinosaurs.

I think there's a case for a chinese whisper scenario... he was a carpenter, and he MADE a cross, and accidentally nailed through his hand and got stuck to the cross and almost died (went into a coma) and then recovered....

Actually I think you are confused. I do not believe in any religion, I think they are all fiction. I answered your question in the context in which it was asked, the Christian bible. You however, only believe that Christianity is right, and all other religions are false. And that sir, is bias.
