Yep, opened up a Dell once and the whole front was a mat of lint, from top to bottom, roughly 1/4 of an inch thick, still not sure how that thing still ran

Lint is dust and cloth fibers that accumulate in a mat or in a dense cotton-ball sort of (you know) accumulation. Clothes dryers have a lint screen that captures fibers which break loose from the clothing due to the heat and tumbling action of the dryer.

That looks like a pop art rendition of Santa Claus.

So how did that get into your system?? How did it accumulate inside the pc cabinet??

Well, it's not actually in my system. I just found the photo that someone posted on the 'net. Probably posted by a disgusted technician or someone's grandson. As to how it accumulated, we can only guess. Maybe someone had the tower in a garage or utility room near a dryer vent. As we know, the cooling fans draw in room air to cool the computer's components.

The air is filled with dust. Fibers, skin cells, and various other things are floating through the air around you right now. The particles are small and you can't see them - until the accumulate in large enough numbers. Happens in every PC. Happens around your normal fans, in your carpet, on your furniture, and far more. The person who owned this PC probably never opened it and the dust was able to accumulate over a long enough time
