In today's world of strong passwords, when you are supposed to have a different one for each site, how do you keep track of them all? What are the pros and cons of your password system?

I heard the best thing to do with your passwords is to write them down on a piece of paper.
If you get robbed, who is gonna steal some paper? They will steal your tech, which probably contains your passwords.

I have a system that makes each site password a different one, and one that I can remember.
But I have a feeling that system won't be working too well in the near future. I'm working on a programatic way of generating a password depending on site and a salt. And then I can change the salt every so often. But I haven't got it working the way I want it to yet.

Why doesn't he say that verbally? I ask him the question about passwords, and he says, use Firefox. Does he mention his plans?
He is SUCH an intravert!

LastPass. Only remember ONE password. the rest can be randomly generated by LastPass... it even takes all your exsiting saved passwords in IE, Firefox, Opera and adds them to the list at first installation...

They've recently added better features for password generation as well.
