VASECTOMY BAN BILL PROPOSED BY DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKER IN RESPONSE TO 'HEARTBEAT' ABORTION LAW: 'YOU WANT REGULATION OF CHOICE AND BODIES? DONE!'
A Georgia Democratic lawmaker has responded to the recent passing of a controversial abortion law in the Georgia House of Representatives by drafting a “testicular bill of rights,” which would ban vasectomies and require men to seek permission from their partners before getting a Viagra prescription.

In an email with the subject line "Testicular 'Bill of Rights' Legislation" and the importance level set to high, Representative Dar’shun Kendrick, of metro-Atlanta's 93rd District, asked her legislative counsel to draft a law banning vasectomy procedures in Georgia, mirroring the "punitive measures" laid out in HB 481.

Last week, the Georgia House voted to ban abortion after the heartbeat of the fetus could be detected at about six weeksl. HB 481, dubbed the "heartbeat bill," will next move to the Georgia State Senate.

The Testicular Bill of Rights would consider men having sex without a condom as “aggravated assault” and require DNA testing of a fetus when a woman is 6 weeks and 1 day pregnant to determine the father “who shall IMMEDIATELY start paying child support.” Kendrick also suggested putting in place a 24-hour “waiting period” for men to buy porn or sex toys in the state.

“Ggggooooodddd morning! Introducing my "Testicular Bill of Rights" legislative package. You want some regulation of bodies and choice? Done!” Kendrick wrote in a tweet alongside a screen grab of her email.

Kendrick told Newsweek she tweeted the screen grab of her email to continue the conversation around, and draw attention, to HB 481, which she described as an "attack on women across Georgia," rather than truly wanting to crack down on men's choices.

"I don't want the government to restrict ANYONE'S choices, so this is clearly meant to be a counternarrative about the absurdity of HB 481 and bills like it that restrict women's choices," she said in an email interview.

The politician was among Democratic lawmakers to protest against HB 481 by bringing wire coat hangers and bleach to the floor of the chamber to suggest such legislation may push women to seek dangerous at-home and backstreet abortions.

Asked to respond to those who might argue it is unfair to restrict men's reproductive rights, she told Newsweek: "Ya think?! Imagine that—men thinking it unfair to restrict or legislate men's reproductive rights. Wherever did I get this idea?"

She told Newsweek that for some supporters of HB 481, it was a test case, part of a longer-term plan to see Roe v. Wade overturned.

Reproductive rights are under attack in Georgia, she said, and some Republican legislatures "hope that they will get to the U.S. Supreme Court and changes will be made with the help of Trump appointees."

Kendrick told Rolling Stone: “They’re hoping that it gets up to the Court of Appeals—the 11th Circuit is one of the most conservative court circuits that we have, and they’re hopeful that they will uphold part of it, and then they’ll take it all the way to the Supreme Court."

The lawmaker vowed to continue her fight against HB 481 as it goes to the Georgia State Senate. "The battle is not done," she told Newsweek. "No one has a right to decide when we (me included) have children. No. One."

Dumbass. A vasectomy is a birth control method. An abortion is not. One is prevention, one is termination after the fact. Stupid.

Men's choices... Thin wall of latex, sterilization. If the condom breaks he has no choice in what happens and can be strapped with 24 years of payments for a kid he didn't want.

Women have multiple forms of reliable birth control, condoms, morning after pills, abortion, adoption, safe drop stations in some states now infanticide all without consequence or concent of the father.

Men like to think they are enlightened but the fact remains we want to fuck. Restraint is the key. Also not drinking alcohol. I firmly believe that 75%+ of humanities regrets started with alcohol.

If life "starts at conception" then the sperm donor should pay support for the nine months before God breaths life into the child. If for any reason he does not pay, the mother should be eligible for aid from the government, if we are going to pretend to be a "Christian nation."

Not a disagreement from me.

As far as I am concerned both should be responsible for
Prenatal care, insurance, buying maternity clothing...

does life start at conception then? or is there an acceptable time period where abortions can be carried out?

Ill be fine with that if you give men the right to opt out. He can't force the woman to abort the unwanted pregnancy, he can't offer the kid up for adoption, and he can't abandon the kid at a fire station. Once she is pregnant a man has no choice in the matter, that isn't fair.

No. Two living cells merge and merge their DNA to produce a unique living being. Life never ended. I've advocated for easy access to the morning after pill, although I dissagree with abortion do not think it should be illegal until the baby would be independantly viable (medical risks aside). I dissagree with the 'heartbeat bill' but recognize it as a reaction to the increased promotion of late term abortions to the point that we are legalizing the murder of babies born alive.

In my personal opinion there is a time period where it can be justified. After a certain time, you just have to suck it up and own up to the responsibilities.

There is no doubt life begins at conception. They weren't dead before 5 months in utero. They are alive human beings from day one.

yay! i agree..! with both of you! yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

the only reason i asked is because of the fertility clinic scenario - where if you were in a fertility clinic and there was a fire, and in the room where all of the embryo's are stored there was a crying five year old girl who'd lost her parents.. what would you grab and save? would it be the 100,000 viable embryos or the child? i think morally and ethically we can agree that the child would be the one to save.. because even though the embryos are technically alive and not dead as you point out elsie, they do not compare to the actual child in front of you..

The number of abortions occurring each year in the US has been dropping for decades as easier access to education, birth control and other contraception methods have become available. Therefor if someone was really interested in lowering abortions they should not be fighting against those. But often the anti choice crowd is also fighting against education and birth control.
"Late term abortions" occur according to Wikipedia:

Quote:
United States: In 2003, from data collected in those areas that sufficiently reported gestational age, it was found that 6.2% of abortions were conducted between 13 and 15 weeks, 4.2% between 16 and 20 weeks, and 1.4% at or after 21 weeks.[17] In 2014, the CDC reported that 1.3% of reported abortions (5,578) were performed at 21 weeks of gestation or later.[18]

So from 2003 to 2014 the percent has actually dropped despite lies saying otherwise.
Most states ban abortions after ~22 weeks with exceptions for health risks. So this idea that Donald Trump knows shit about anything is laughable.

What the fertility senerio shows is the diferences in how we apply value to life. Add an old man to the mix and the poor guy doesnt have a chance. There were studies where people thought they had to choose whether ti let a train hit four people or to change the track so it hits one person. It showed the difficulty in saving the four by conciously killing the one.

Well, she could keep an aspirin between her knees as well... This antiquated concept of blaming men needs to be put aside. Women lie about birth control, other partners, and some have been caught fishing used condoms out of the trash to inseminate themselves. Men's basic biological drive is to have sex. Everything we spend money on from cars to clothes to cologne is to find a sexual partner. We pay for dates, wear flashy watches and keep $1000 in our wallets next to our platinum cards to impress her with our resources so we can have sex. Men find women attractive on a natural curve, women find only the top 20% of men attractive (all kinds of data from dating sites and societal studies). Women are the gate-keepers, especially during the last twenty five years when sexual harassment and date rape became legitimized.

The fact is that any woman willing to lower her standards can get laid tonight by someone. About 50% of men won't procreate during their lives (some may think they have... 33% of paternity tests come back negative, but the guy is usually stuck with paying child support anyway in many states 'best interest of the child' and other such nonsense). Each man a woman can get impregnated with in MA (making a modest $52,000 a year) gets her at least $316 a week in income, not taxed and not declared. She gets knocked up by a couple more guys, applies for SNAP, Housing, Welfare (heck, claims a disability, then gets her kids diagnosed with ADHD for even more support) this chick is living on T-Bones and lobster. The first three years of the kids' lives she gets WIC too! When they become a bother there is Head Start ready to step in, then public schools up to 18. If she's ambitious and starts with a kid at 16, she can ride the WIC wave every three years until she's in her late 30's popping out kid after kid she really doesn't have to care for and can coast into her mid to late 50's playing the victim card never having to work surrounded by a swarm of dysfunctional drains on the legal system.

Abstinence teaching to a teen male is a bit of a joke.

This is basically the theme song playing in every teen males head...

Even adult males. Get them drunk and if there is a woman falling on his dick, if it could be bet on, odds would be in favour of him cheating.
