The latest figures show that since September 2019, flu has infected 38 million Americans, hospitalised 390,000 and killed 23,000.

The death rates from Covid 19 vary from country to country NOT because it is a different virus or nationalities react differently to it, it is because Countries have different ways of recording the cause of death.

Just sayin' .... a few things I have picked up from the current writing of a recently retired professor of pathology and a former NHS consultant pathologist in the UK.

This is one of the articles I have been reading: https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/The-evidence-on-Covid-19-is-not-as-clear-as-we-think
I think it will answer a lot of questions.
I'm not saying this IS the definitive answer to the problem, but there is some eyewatering information in it. Worth the ten minutes read (or thereabouts).

I was reading yesterday some countries only report the actual cause of death, so if a patent has COVID-19 but dies of a heart attack only the heart attack is reported. They really should be recording underlying causes as a standard.

Strange, my wife said she read that the WHO requires that if someone dies and they know he had corona, or a simple blood test post mortem shows this, the cause of death shall be corona.

Wouldn't surprise me if countries aren't doing that to manipulate numbers.

Are you implying they lied? Are you saying we cannot trust the information coming out of there? That is ...
