So I have some random thoughts

As Seen On TV

Ok so I went out for milk and bread around Sept 12 in 2015 (according to my last login)
Since that time I've finished a temp job working on repairing inject molding and heat vacuum forming machines.
Finished a temp position in a 90k sq/foot factory start up where I installed a new machine every 10 days on average for over 7 months and a few more monitoring them.
Started another job, traveled from NY to Austin and San Jose, CA for several times each. after 14 months the customer decided they didn't want to renew a service contract.
Got laid off 7 days before I was to sign the papers for my new house. The bank refused to give me the loan. Had an interview within a couple days and a job offer within 2 weeks of being laid off. The bank let me move forward with the loan on receipt of my first check.
I became the banks bitch for the next 30 years in December of 2017. Its a 3 bedroom 2000sqft on 2 acres just a couple miles from a horse race track. For those of you who want to know what 2000sqft is in metric, google it. And its 2 US acres, I have no idea what it is in other measurements.

I actually came back to ask for advice with something because it seems the internet has become filled with garbage these days and a search engine filters it all right into your lap. Nothing seems to die on the internet. It just lingers and lingers and makes good searches impossible. The only thing worse than not finding anything is finding too much things. Ok so I'll post that in a different thread.

Oh and see those two trees in the background that sort of stick out, my yard goes just past that and down past the end of the driveway. I mow the whole thing with a push mower. 2 hours in the front and 2 hours in the back.
I'm thinking a rider would be better.

Its 40 years old and the last owner was mr fixit but more ambition than skill, and cheap.
It needs some work but nothing serious.
I want to clear out some trees and put in a green house, add some deck in the back yard....
Plans and what not but right now that's what they are. Plans for someday.

Apart from the garage, that looks almost identical to the house I grew up in. I envy your acres

Where I grew up half the houses looked like this without the added garage. My aunt and uncle had a house like this. I think that's what drew me to it. The only difference is very few people I knew back then had finished basements with a fireplace in it. And everyone had big yards. That's was the selling point. Unfortunately its abut 30 miles to work so I could afford the neighborhood. Anything like this half way there would be twice as much. Such is the case everywhere I suppose.

I want to put in fruit trees but the deer already eat all the apples I could reach before I get to them and the squirrels ate all the almonds from my tree just as they were about ready to harvest.

My parents house has a garage in the lower level on the right. Basement was finished, which my dad did, and there was a fireplace in the basement and above it in the living room. Many houses looked like this, but was never in one that had 2 fireplaces.

The garage with the loft? above is a nice touch.

I love the smell of driveway sealer. A few beers and 20 gallons of sealer and Ill have a great time.
It will be more fun than clearing the 14 inches of snow and sleet I had on it a couple months ago.
It was put in in 2017 so I have a couple years to go. Fixing the garage roof will be the interesting part.
And the right side of the basement used to be the old garage. Its now utility room and cement floor for gym equipment when I decide to pretend to work out.

I have to seal mine this year but it's only 1/3 or less the size of yours. Then I work on regrading and sodding my back lawn(again) as we did more concrete patio, and possibly build at 14x14 floating deck for a gazebo, then reseed the front lawn, then finish the basement, then repaint the upstairs.....

I feel for people that own a house and don't like working with their hands... Unless they have the cash to pay someone to do everything
