Inspired by byteheads flood video.....

This is a few pictures from the storm we had yesterday, that produced a tornado just a few miles for our house. It looked like there was going to be one right above us for a while, there was major cloud rotation, and fast rotation, a very short and wide funnel cloud appeared for a few seconds, I got a photo of it, but the photo does not do mother nature justice. Then as I was stood on the kids playhouse in the garden, the rain switched on. I say switched on, because it went from no rain to being unable to see the bottom of the garden through the rain in about 3 seconds flat....

Then twenty minutes later, it was blue skies and sunshine for the rest of the day, and a lovely new paddling pool in the front garden for Harry to play in...

The storm building.

The scary rotation that I thought we might have to hide from.

The downpour. You can normally see across the fields from here...

The Result.... Smiles and fun.....

It's been bloody glorious here for the past 3 days.. This morning felt like it might spot a little bit - but then it decided not to bother.. Gotta love our weather eh?

My grandmother used to tell me about freak weather back in the day. She has long since passed and can't retell her stories but they all thought it was the end of the world. This of course was the very early 1900s and her grandmother used to tell her stories about the weather and the end of the world, this was in the mid to late 1800s, before weather was being recorded. I think weather phenomena is something spectacular and we will be telling our kids and grandkids about it but the earth will continue to do its thing as it has for the past 1000s of years. Great photos of the clouds and the feet in the wet grass!

PS It is gonna be a little over 100 here today, not much different from the other summers I have been here. I wish there were some afternoon storms to break up this heat some but then you would just get 100+ with humidity and that is a b****

I've never heard thunder like we had yesterday. Usually, there's the odd rumble, a flash of lightning and then the process repeats or the storm moves off.

When I left Wombat Towers early yesterday morning there was a constant sound of thunder in the sky. At first I thought it was a jet but then I realised it wasn't. It sounded like someone rolling barrels on a wooden floor and it went on and on and on... I thought it didn't bode well and I was right. About forty minutes later the heavens opened, the power went off and rain/hail battered everything.
