It is a continuation of their highly successful Bottom franchise with Eddie and Richie stuck on a deserted island. I am wondering how they plan to play this out, as the structured setting of an island with no other people, cut off from popular culture that played such a big part in all of Mayall’s work might be a difficult setting for 6 episodes.
Adrian announced the big news on his Twitter this week , complete with a pic of Mayall, telling his followers: “Writing with this complete bastard today… We are trying to write a series of ‘Hooligan’s Island’ – basically Richie & Eddie marooned on a desert island…”

Hopefully this show will be on our TV soon, as it’s been too long since the legend that is Rik Mayall was part of TV comedy.
