If I am ever a parent, I will be nothing but honest. I won't kill dreams/make fun of them, but at the age they are, I would prep them for the inevitable rejection they will get as an adult. I think the parents that continually tell their kids they are great, end up with kids that reach adulthood and can't cope with the reality of life.
