This came to my attention today, and I'm currently looking into how feasible it is to do.
It's a charity car rally from Manchester, UK to Gibraltar, at the bottom of Spain. I've been to Gib a few times over the years, and have always wanted to drive there. Now I have the chance to arrange it, do it for free, and raise some money for three different charities.
The first charity is The Christie Charity, raising money for the cancer ward that organiser was treated at. The second charity is Support After Murder and Manslaughter. Pretty self explanatory that one. And the third charity is one set up by my nephew and niece for their disabled son, Lucas, who has cerebal palsy.
I'm not asking for donations, just now, this is more for suggestions as to how I could increase the income of sponsors, and any pointers from those who have done charity work like this in the past.
It's not certain that we will take part, there's only 46 days to go until the event, but I'd absolutely love to take part, and do something worthwhile that I'll never forget, and that others will benefit from.
I know you guys are good with suggestions, so get suggesting.... (I'll ask for donations when and if I commit to doing it)
http://www.cctcharityrally.org <-- is the site set up for the event. The donation to take part is £610, £500 of which goes to the first two charities, and the remaining £110 covers the camping fees and ferry to calais. Anything I raise over and above that will go to the Lucas William Finch Appeal.
Thanks guys....

You think he could find a sponsor that wouldn't be embarrassed by his car?
