I was in Coventry last night, at my mate Boldy's flat. Boldy made dinner, then had to run to the shops to get ketchup. Whilst he was out, his girlfriend and I started eating. A couple of mins into the meal, and she started choking on a lump of meat, I mean properly choking, as in, to death, drool was pouring from her eyes, nose and mouth, she couldn't breathe in at all, and was turning blue within 30 seconds. Like a superhero, I jumped into action, and did the Heimlich Maneuver about four times, with no effect, as she started passing out, I whacked her on the back as hard as I could twice, and thank fuck, out popped the offending lump of pork....

I've never heard someone breathe in like she did at that point. It sounded horrific.

I shat myself. Never been more scared in my life, and I hope I never am as scared as that ever again.

She's fine, btw, and swears she will never eat another pork chop as long as she lives.

I don't mind admitting I cried a little when the drama had passed.

Saving lives....
