Alright. It all starts with Tuesday. Tuesday morning my upper right arm decided it wanted to feel sore as fuck. But I wrote it off as nothing. We're always sore. It's part of being in the Army. Tuesday night I notice what looks like a spider bite on the inside of the same arm. Wednesday morning, it's a red line about 2 inches long. Thursday morning, it's a thicker red line about 3 inches long. This doesn't look good. So I go into the clinic to get it checked out and the woman they sent me too was not a doctor. She was an assistant, filling in for my doctor. And she tells me this red line is a skin infection.
I google skin infections. This looks nothing like my arm. But I take the medicine she gave me and showed up back at the clinic the next day for her to see how much it has changed. But instead of getting lighter like she'd hoped, it was spreading more and just as dark. So finally she sends me in for an ultrasound to check for Deep Vein Thrombosis (blood clot in the main artery in my arm.) I go get the ultrasound and the cardiologist tells me there is a 4cm long clot in my superficial vein. Luckily, not as serious as an arterial clot.
Here's where I want to lose my shit. I take the results back to the lady I saw at the clinic. She tells me there is not clot and to keep taking the medication for my skin infection.
NEVER HAVE I WANTED TO PUNCH A BITCH MORE.
It took every ounce of will power not to lose my baring on the woman. I saw the clot with my own eyes on the ultrasound. So now I'm stressed out, nervous, and drinking.
I hate Army doctors.
