Since about September I've been having issues with migraines, finally in Oct I went to have myself checked, meds didn't do jack. Fast forward to Dec, finally get in to see a neurologist, last week I had an MRI done on the brain and neck. Doctor just called, I have, Arthritis, a herniated disk and a disk obtrusion in the neck area. Going to PT in Jan, hoping surgery can be avoided, not too sure of my status at work at the moment, don't want to have to leach of society if possible.

I feel your pain, man. I had the same thing happen to two of the discs in my lower spine.

Sorry to hear that. I too have cervical spine issues. Have Multi-Level Degenerative Disc Disease and Spinal Stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal). Beginning Jan. of last year I was having horrible headaches and severe muscle tension in my traps. After 3 months of PT and an epidural, not to mention just about every painkiller available, I had surgery to remove the disc between C5 and C6 and remove the bone spurs narrowing the spinal canal. That was at the end of July. It's been a long road to getting back to normal, but I can say the surgery wasn't as bad as I thought and now that the structural is fixed, the muscles are getting better. Massage therapy as often as I can helps A LOT. I have to say that I am MUCH better now than I was before the surgery. Good luck man, I wish the best for you. It's no fun, but it can get better. Pain meds only work for so long and then they start to become part of the issue. Good luck and hope PT will help. If you have any questions or need advice you can PM me and I'll be happy to relay my experiences.

To be honest I was very pessimistic about the news, I've been needing something to motivate me to loose weight for the longest, after thinking it over realized that PT will most likely be the best to happen to me and if it does come to surgery, so be it, been dealing with little pains here and there since I left the Army, now it's time to have it all go away hopefully
