Hi!

I've just decided to buy a new phone for myself....

I'm looking for a touchscreen phone with android or iphone...

Initially I was only looking for an android phone... but I just read some article, after which I am confused as to what phone to buy...

Here's the Article link: [ ::: link ::: ]

Also, I was browsing this website this morning and bookmarked a comparison page of my selection of phones I was interested in...

If anyone else here as any other suggestions apart from this comparison page.. please let me know...

http://www.themobileindian.com/handset-guide/compare/HTC~221,HTC~345,HTC~624,HTC~957,HTC~2441,HTC~957

Another phone not in that comparison list is:

That phone is the priciest phone among all android phones...!! I won't want to buy a very costly phone as my "first" android...

Actually you DO want to get as expensive a phone as you can afford, the problem with cheaper phones, android included is that they never live up to expectations, will never get any updates, and are really out of date by the time they are announced, cheap phones are for kids, till they learn to not destroy everything they touch.

The reason so many people "hate" android is because they bought the cheapest phone but expect it to perform as well as a top of the line phone, and they can't, they are cheap for a reason, so like idiots they complain that Android sucks when in fact it's just the device they purchased.

I'm surrounded daily by collagues praising the Galaxy SII (the successor to the one you're linking to), so that should be a pretty safe bet, I think. It doesn't have the screen resolution (or quality) of the Galaxy Nexus (848x400 vs 1280x720), but performance-wise they're fairly even. SII should get Android 4 pretty soon too. There is probably an SIII around the corner, though.
If you just want cheap Android, many of the Chinese Huawei or ZTE phones actually get decent reviews too..

Picked up a Galaxy S2 around x-mas, and I'll admit that I'm fairly happy with what it can do. Was going to go for a Nexus, but I am more concerned about what it can do, not how pretty it is going to look when it's doing it, and there just wasn't a big enough leap in hardware and OS capabilities to justify the upped cost for me.

I have a samsung galaxy s2 - it has some of the best hardware on the market, and was free with contract. I love it.

BTW - the hardware in the nexus is nearly identical to the S2, the only real difference being 0.15" more screen for the soft buttons

My Galaxy Nexus outlasts all the iPhones my colleagues have when used the same way (same internet apps, bluetooth on/off, etc - we had this argument in the office and as we are geeks, we decided to do like-for-like testing ) - and my Galaxy Nexus beat the iPhones and one or two of the other HTC phones....
If I use it without having everything turned on and trying to download half the internet with updates for Google+. Facebook, etc, I get 2 DAYS out of my battery....

The only time I charge my S2 is on the 15 minute ride to and from work with my car charger - I never bother at home, as it always has power. With moderate to heavy use, it lasts longer than my friends iphone

I've got a HTC desire hd, and that rocks, very stable, battery could last longer, but all smart phones suffer from that ailment. Wifey has a nokia windows phone, and whilst I didnt like it at first, it's growing on me, I kinda like it, apart from the case, it's too smooth and it keeps flying out my hands, and I end up juggling it like a moron until I get a grip on it again... (aka trying to catch/control a slippery bar of soap) that problem was solved with a rubber case, something I'd highly recommend for that phone....

Finally bought "HTC Sensation" ... it'll be here by tomorrow or on monday. Was looking at apps on makeuseof.com and wanted to ask what all free apps you all have on your phones...

I found this app called "Llama" on makeuseof... seems pretty good, but haven't used it... anyone tried it?
