Some suggestions?

OK here's the story. I finally have a place to host more than three guests at a time so I'm thinking I want to have a party. I know I don't need a reason to have one but I really want to do one for Halloween. I want to go crazy with decorations. Of course the first one would be small and each year I could add more.

This year I want to start with a couple giant freak show banners out front. I've looked into buying older ones to hang out front but real ones can run into a thousand or more or they are small in size.

I was thinking one "Freak Show" banner about 4 feet high and 8 feet long and another with the "freaks" maybe 6-8 high and around 10 feet long.

The thing is I want to save some money on materials so getting the high end canvas from a specialty shop would be too much. I'm probably going to get some canvas drop cloths at the hardware store and start with those. Put on a base and then decorate that.
So does anyone have any suggestions on materials? Would a regular drop cloth survive hanging outside for a month and being rolled up in a garage the rest of the year? Does anyone think using a regular house paint would work? Would it survive being rolled up?
I'm not too worried about a couple hundred in materials but if I'm spending a lot of time painting these I'd like something that lasts a few years and can be used more than once.

Then I need to find a source for large (and cheap) Styrofoam pieces that can be carved into things like giant pumpkins and bones that can be used to decorate the yard.

I know its a little early but it's going to take a while to get it ready.
All the other holiday parties don't take as much work.

I would go with a fabric/textile paint. If you used house paint it's likely to get brittle and crack if you decide to roll it (or maybe even if you don't). For the pumpkins/bones I would have said hit up Michael's post Halloween and clean up on the faux pumpkins but you might get lucky online so save yourself the carving. Oh...and check pinterest. Tons of ideas on there.

I want to make pumpkins that are large. As in three or four feet. I'm only going to make a few. I kind of want to make it look like a giant garden... Maybe giant bones...
There are videos online showing how its done. Big Styrofoam pieces carved, coated in a layer of a cement compound and painted.
