Of all the years I have done IT Consulting I had only one request to do something similar.

The gentleman wanted to start a new identity online because of a 'problem'.

I did the following:

#Replaced all of his hard drives with brand new ones.

#After installing a fresh OS on all the drives, I switched all the MAC Addresses on all the computers.

#Created brand new email addresses for all of his needs (Personal, Professional and Entertainment)

#The gentleman used a normal ISP, something public, with a new MAC Address I didn't feel like a new IP Address was needed. It wasnt static or anything. I dunno, I didnt think it was important.

#And also my advice to him was to just forget about the sites he was a member of. He could definitely go back and create a new user name, but old acquaintances will be a risk after a while. He might want to let a few people know he's changed user names and emails and all that. If he goes around telling a bunch of people all the new identities then what's the point?

...this was in 2005, if I recall correctly. This is as much as I remember doing for the guy. For what ever reason you want to 'clean up' your online presence these things will be a good start.

Good Luck.

Unless you want to change your name and SSN; close all your accounts and go offline for about 18 months.

I've been a memeber for along time (since T2 maybe T1??) and I never really worried about open doors.. but the last few years my fav open door has been bitting me in the ass...I still love it here tho..

Ask WhoamI, he knows everything about conspiracies and such. Avoid airplanes to get to him, and internet is probably not the best way to contact him!

Aaron, a lot of info is out there that you put there. Removing it is impossible. One problem is your website. Wanting to run a business online means you have to have personal info publicly available.

http://www.r-and-r.biz/resume.htm
http://www.r-and-r.biz/email.htm

you might want to change to an anonymous registration if possible:
http://whois.domaintools.com/r-and-r.biz

Again, trying to make money by offering a room for people means you can't clean up your online presence

http://stayatmyplace.freewebspace.com/index.html

and in hindsight, using the same username for multiple sites makes cleaning up a difficult task

Just a few random ones:

Except for the business you could edit the bios, look for posts where you mention your name, address etc. It appears that other than your business/website not a lot of really personal info is out there.

If you didnt protect your identity from Internet day #1, then it is impossible to remove what is there now.

especially if oyu are doing business online.
