ok, anyone have a suggestion??? I have gone to the HP website to download the drivers for a Compaq Presario v2000, but there is no option for that, they have the v2000C ot the v2000T, and the drivers don't work with the machine I am working on. Any suggestions as to where I can find this?? Google searches have been unhelpful

Running XP ????????? I have an .iso file entitled "Universal XP Driver Pack." It's one and a half gigs. No guarantee it has what you need. But I could upload it if you want.

yeah it's XP, and the HD has 68 gigs free, so if you could do that I would appreciate it and I'll try it out

OK. I'll try dropbox. I'll split the one and a half gigs into .rar segments of a bit less than 300 MB each. It may be tomorrow sometime before I get the whole thing uploaded. I'm busy with lots of other stuff today and tomorrow. I'll try to get each segment done when I can get back to the 'puter to start a segment upload. The first segment should appear here within a couple of hours.

There is more to the model number. v2000 is generic. There are about 30 models in the series.
Check for a number on the bottom or look in the bios for a full model #.

Did that .iso have what you needed?

Ignore it if you choose...

Just remember... it's what I do all day.
BTW: As an "intern" this is exactly what you should be learning.

Give it a few BR, he may indeed be ignoring you but he hasn't answered thomasslavin yet so it's likely he hasn't seen your post.

thanks for the help, I haven't been back to work since the post by Thomasslavin, so I haven't tried the XP fix yet, that'll be Friday at the earliest, and BR the tag doesn't say anything other then v2000, I tried the v200c and v200T drivers, but they didn't work. I haven't had a chance to look at the BIOS yet, but I will on Friday, thanks for the tip.

Even though it is truncated... MARK!...
Copy and paste works for me...
2 or 3 clicks to highlight everything then copy and paste into your browser.

thanks for the help, Thomas, as BR suuggested, the model number was on the case, I just missed it. We found it in the BIOS and then on the case later, thanks for the upload. BR thanks for the help, it solved the problem right away. The guy I am working for wasn't in the shop when I was looking for the info, and he knew the solutioon as well. But thanks for the insight
