I had to go to the east side of Manhattan yesterday, where I rarely go. I took some pictures with my phone.
Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital. Without a doubt one of the creepiest places I have ever seen. It looks like a movie set for 'Arkham Asylum'. The windows are all blocked up, and have some yellow/scum/patina of despair on them.

The window on the top right... the top half of the window was open, the curtain billowed into the room beyond. The effect was really eerie, like the whole building was abandoned, but people were going in and out the front door.

The main entrance.

This gives a better impression of how scummy the place looks, and how dilapidated and rundown it seems. It really was a ghastly looking place. For all I know the inside is warm and inviting, but I wouldn't bet on it.

On the east river looking north. The 59th St. bridge is feeling groovy. The tall building is the UN.

The UN building is having some work done. Asshole removal, probably.

The front of the UN.

The way the low clouds swept around the Chrysler building was pretty cool. I'm sorry the shot does not do it justice.

Obligatory shot of the Empire State Building.
