The Labassin Waterfall Restaurant is a truly singular and memorable experience. Located at the Villa Escudero Resort in the Philippines, guests can enjoy lunch while the water flows under their feet . Besides enjoying the authentic local cuisine, you can enjoy the almost untouched nature of the region formerly occupied by a farm and coconut plantations.

Gawd, I miss that place. I have not been back there in six years. Villa Escudero, where that restaurant is located, can be reached via a four hour drive from Manila. From the reception area, you are driven via a cart pulled by a carabao (Philippines' indigent buffalo) while being serenaded by a singer and a guitarist to your room. If you are in a group, you have the option of staying in a hut that can accommodate up to ten people and then there are smaller units for honeymooners. Then in the evenings, right after you've had supper, occupants are serenaded by musicians under the moonlight. One can also tour the Escudero museum, where everything from furniture, weapons, creamics, clothing, coins, to preserved insects & arachnids are on display in a replica of a church that used to stand in the city of Manila.

That waterfall by the way, is also the source of electricity that runs the whole of Villa Escudero. I wouldn't mind going back there. In fact, I recommend it to you guys if ever you get the chance to visit the Philippines.
